About Movement Med

Movement built around clinical judgment, delivered with genuine care.

We’re a small team of Pilates instructors, physical therapists, and movement specialists. Every member of our team holds clinical credentials — and uses them to meet clients exactly where their bodies are.

Shane Keith Rhoads

Founder & Co-Owner · Movement Specialist

Shane is a movement specialist with over 37 years of experience in fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation. His background spans professional baseball, collegiate athletics, spine and back rehabilitation, physical therapy, private training, and consulting — a wide range that informs his holistic, results-driven approach to working with people of all abilities.

For 14 years, Shane worked exclusively in Pilates, designing programs for people managing chronic conditions, recovering from injury, or seeking better postural alignment. He still uses Pilates as a powerful tool, now integrated with movement assessment, mobility and strength training, postural re-education, and breathing mechanics. The aim is simple: help clients move with greater strength, function, and confidence.

Beyond the studio, Shane is a visual artist exploring themes of embodiment and interconnectivity through painting and sculpture. His work is held in private collections in Hawaii, Southern California, Arizona, and Illinois. The combination of scientific rigor and artistic sensibility is how he approaches the human body — both as a biomechanical system and as a work of art.

Shane’s specialties include post-rehabilitation Pilates, athletic conditioning, spinal health, postural and movement re-education, and functional strength and mobility.

Michael White, CPT, M.A., CMHC, Pilates Instructor · Personal Trainer at Movement Med

Michael White, CPT, M.A., CMHC

Pilates Instructor · Personal Trainer

Michael came to Pilates as a triple-sport college athlete — cheerleading, swimming, and distance running — using it to rehabilitate old injuries and explore a new form of movement. Believing we carry so much subconscious stress in our bodies, he takes an evidence-based, solution-focused approach to releasing tension and developing strength. Having taught at physical therapy clinics, major health clubs, corporate fitness brands, and local boutique studios, he understands that quality instruction includes a modification or progression for everyone. While open to all clients, Michael specializes in LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming services, rehabilitation for current athletes, and supporting people through post-sport and fitness transitions with identity reconstruction and new movement discovery. His hope is to make the Pilates method as inclusive and accessible as possible, helping each client further develop their mind-body interconnection.
